Ventas, Inc. (NYSE:VTR) (“Ventas” or the “Company”) announced the
following promotions:

John D. Cobb was promoted to Executive Vice President and Chief
Investment Officer, from Senior Vice President. Cobb, who joined
Ventas in 2010, is responsible for the Company’s extensive acquisition
and investment activity, including seniors housing, medical office
buildings and other healthcare properties. Before joining Ventas, Cobb
was President and Chief Executive Officer of Senior Lifestyle Corp.,
and earlier in his career, he held various positions with GE
Healthcare Financial Services, a division of GE Capital Corp, which is
a subsidiary of General Electric Corp. Cobb is on the Board of
Directors of the National Investment Center for the Seniors Housing
and Care Industry (NIC) and is a member of the Executive Board of the
American Seniors Housing Association. He holds a BA in Finance from
Lehigh University.

Lori B. Wittman was promoted to Senior Vice President, Capital Markets
and Investor Relations, from Vice President. As head of capital
markets, Wittman is responsible for managing the Company’s debt and
equity raising activities, investor relations and relationships with
its capital partners. Wittman joined Ventas in 2011. Previously, she
was the CFO and managing principal of Big Rock Partners, a real estate
private equity firm. Prior to that, she served as Senior Vice
President and Treasurer for General Growth Properties. She sits on the
board of Hedge Funds Care where she co-chairs the granting committee.
She has a BA in Geography and Sociology from Clark University, a
Master of City Planning from University of Pennsylvania and an MBA
from the University of Chicago.

Joy L. Butora was promoted to Vice President, Asset Management, from
Director. In her current position, she is responsible for financial
oversight and analysis of the Company’s seniors housing operating
portfolio and managing relationships with third-party management
companies. Butora joined Ventas in 2007 as an asset manager.
Previously, she was employed in various positions in the healthcare
and senior living industries. Butora holds an MBA in Finance from
Saginaw Valley State University and a Bachelor of Business
Administration from the University of Michigan – Flint.

Will Germain was promoted to Investment Officer, Medical Office
Buildings, from Director. In his position, Germain is responsible for
originating, underwriting and executing medical property acquisitions
and development opportunities. Previously, he held various positions
with Ventas. Before joining Ventas in 2006, Germain worked at GE
Capital Corp., a subsidiary of General Electric Corp. He received a
Bachelor of Finance from the University of New Haven.
