Ventas, Inc. (NYSE:VTR) ("Ventas" or the "Company") announced today that
the Ventas Charitable Foundation has pledged $50,000 towards The
Parklands of Floyds Fork project in Louisville, Kentucky.

help make Louisville one of the top cities in the country in terms of
parklands," Ventas Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer Debra
A. Cafaro said. Ventas currently employs 36 people in Louisville.
"The Ventas Charitable Foundation is helping us build out what will
become not just a well-used and well-loved parks system for the
Louisville region, but will demonstrate how creating parkland
infrastructure in advance of new development can benefit a city's
livability," said Dan Jones, Chairman and CEO of 21st Century
Parks, the nonprofit planning and developing The Parklands. "We are
grateful for this commitment that comes at an important time as The
Parklands are beginning to move from design toward construction."
The Parklands will open in phases beginning in 2011 with completion
anticipated for 2015. Once completed, The Parklands of Floyds Fork will
be a world-class integrated public parks system totaling nearly 4,000
acres of land and connected by a 20-mile recreational trail, a scenic
park drive and 100 miles of new hiking, biking and equestrian trails
located in eastern and southern Louisville, along Floyds Fork Creek, a
tributary of the Salt River. The Parklands is one of the nation's
largest and most ambitious metropolitan parks projects.
